Pathway to High Road Jobs for Native Americans

Project Summary: The Pathway to High Road Jobs for Native Americans provides an apprenticeship pipeline for unemployed, under-employed or low-income Native Americans, residing in the CIMC Eastern Sierra, Escondido and San Jacinto Geographic Service Areas. This initiative targets NA participants 18+ years old with training, certification, case management and supportive services to assist them in accessing quality jobs in the Construction and Utilities industries.

The project partners wotj local Tribal organizations and labor unions who provide quality jobs, wages, benefits, and include worker voice, worker safety and agency within their organization.

The primary strategies include improving racial equity and access to quality jobs for Native Americans in trade unions and creating pathways for career advancement to achieve a living wage and strengthen socioeconomic status.

Upon completing the program, participants will have opportunities to be hired by unions or partnering Tribes. In partnership with CIMC, participants of the program who successfully complete their training can be hired by the Tribe and/or labor unions.
